
A dental implant is a root-shaped screw made of titanium that is surgically placed in the bone under the gum and integrates with the surrounding bone tissue over a period of a few months.
Implants can be used to used to support a single tooth via a crown restoration, many teeth or even a removable denture. Dental implants are used if there are insufficiently strong or inadequate numbers of teeth to support the missing teeth.
