Teeth that are out of line may be corrected with:
In extreme cases, some teeth may need to be removed and replaced with:When a tooth has become grossly destroyed it may become necessary to cover and protect the remaining tooth with a crown (sometimes known as a cap). This can either be made of gold, porcelain-fused-to-metal or pure reinforced all-porcelain. In addition to protecting damaged teeth crowns also improve the cosmetic appearance of your smile.
Your dental crown is typically placed over two visits. Firstly, your damaged tooth will be prepared and an impression mould of your mouth taken. The mould is then sent to the dental laboratory to fabricate the crown. During this period a temporary crown is provided. On your second visit, your new crown will be permanently fitted.Click here to see real patient case studies of dental crowns
Dental hygiene is a very important part of keeping a healthy smile. Sarah, our hygienist, is specially trained in the prevention of gum disease and dental cavities. She is keen to re-educate patients how to make the best use of toothbrushes, dental floss and inter-dental brushes.
Sarah will carefully examine and chart your teeth and remove plaque and surface stains by gentle scraping and polishing. We also offer a wide range of fresh breath treatments for individuals suffering from bad breath.
Our hygiene programme
All our patients are offered an individually tailored preventative programme to help them maintain their mouth, teeth, gums and restorations in a healthy state. This essential part of your dental regime not only makes your mouth feel fresh and healthy but will also reduce the need for treatment.
A dental implant is a root-shaped screw made of titanium that is surgically placed in the bone under the gum and integrates with the surrounding bone tissue over a period of a few months.
Implants can be used to used to support a single tooth via a crown restoration, many teeth or even a removable denture. Dental implants are used if there are insufficiently strong or inadequate numbers of teeth to support the missing teeth.

If you do not have any of your natural teeth left then you will benefit from having dentures as they provide structure to your smile and prevent surrounding facial muscles from sagging. In addition to dentures, bridges and dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth.
We offer the highest quality dentures fabricated to our specification by our dental laboratory.
As an alternative to conventional metal and chrome based dentures we also offer flexible cosmetic dentures by Valplast, these dentures can in some cases eliminate the need for unsightly metal clasps and provide a good cosmetic result.
Dark and discoloured teeth may be lightened by:
Endodontics or root-canal treatment involves removing damaged or dead nerves and blood vessels in the root of the tooth that have become infected due to decay or trauma. The space left is then filled with a material that seals the tooth and keeps it functioning as before.
Michael has a special interest in endodontics and is a member of the The British Endodontic Society.
Orthodontics involves the straightening and alignment of teeth. It usually involves wearing a brace or a retainer over a long period of time. Conventional braces are made from wires and springs attached to tiny metal plates or a plastic mould. The brace applies gentle forces to the teeth and encourages them to adopt a different alignment.
In addition to conventional braces our specialist london orthodontist also offers alternative methods with 'invisible' orthodontics such as lingual braces and Invisalign. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-moulded to fit you. The virtually invisible aligners are changed every 2 weeks and gradually reposition your teeth into a smile you'll be proud of. Treatments times vary from case to case but are typically from 6 months to a year.
Invisalign is…
Convenient – it does not disrupt your lifestyle, you can remove your aligners to eat the food you want and clean your teeth.
Discrete – since the aligners are virtually invisible most people won't notice you're in treatment.
Comfortable – there are no metal wires or bands to irritate your mouth.

Teeth can become discoloured or dark by common foods and beverages such as tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. The colour of your teeth can be greatly improved by whitening them, sometimes known as bleaching.
We offer two types of whitening:
Home Whitening kits
Custom-made trays are fabricated to closely fit your teeth and you are then provided with a specially formulated gel to place in the trays. This process is aimed at achieving gradual and long-lasting whitening of your teeth that can be topped-up as and when needed.
In-Surgery Whitening
This process takes about an hour and involves the placing of specially activated bleach on the surface of your teeth. This treatment can make your teeth several shades lighter giving you a brighter confident white smile. To achieve the whitest possible smile, we recommend that for long-term and optimum results, that this process is backed up with the home-whitening kit.
